Daniel worked hard all his life. A 50 year old loving Father and family man until his mental health started to deteriorate. He left all his possession behind him and moved into a caravan. His mental health continued to deteriorate and eventually he had a nervous breakdown. After a few months recovering in the Priory he moved in with his brother and sister in law in their one bed flat. This wasn’t ideal and he started sleeping in his brothers van instead.
Daniel’s mental health began to deteriorate again and his sister in law gave him Pathways phone number. This sparked a change for him. We referred him to the Council who placed him immediately into B&B. Our outreach team visited him with food parcels and toiletries and spent time with him to check on his well-being.
His worker helped him to secure a fully furnished Deventio property. They specialise in mental health support so Daniel was an ideal candidate. He will be supported through Deventio for 2 years at which point he will be in a good position to bid on a council property. Daniel now has the space to recuperate from a difficult time in his life and start to live life to the full again. He is now doing well and has recently offered to volunteer for Pathways.
“Pathways have not only guided me through the process but actually saved me.”
