After being made redundant last year, Jason decided he wanted to change his work life balance and decided to become self employed and dedicate one day a week to a homelessness charity, something which was close to his mother’s heart. He enjoys making a difference and helping people less fortunate than himself. He also enjoys knowing he’s helping the staff at Pathways to achieve their goals.
Jason mainly works on outreach engaging with rough sleepers and delivering donations and goods to our recently housed clients. Here’s what Rob, our Outreach worker, has said about Jason:
“Jason started volunteering at Pathways in the middle of the pandemic and has been open to the way we work changing regularly. His involvement in outreach has meant that the service has been able to continue running in Chesterfield and surrounding areas, this has also eased pressure on other parts of the service. He is always calm and understanding when working with clients which creates an easy, non-judgmental atmosphere for everyone to work in. On top of this, Jason has also put his joinery skills to use around the office, making sure the workspace is fit for staff and clients alike”.
Everyone at Pathways would like to say a massive thank you to Jason for his hard work and the difference he’s made not just to our clients but to the working environment of our staff as well.
