Finding yourself homeless can be terrifying in the first instance and then trying to understand how to get support can be daunting and confusing. We have tried to breakdown the starting point of how to get support and some of the key agencies who can help you.
You can contact Pathways for advice Monday- Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4:30pm.
If you would like to see someone face to face, we run a drop-in Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 10am and 12:30pm.
Pathways will help you navigate the homeless system and support you to understand your housing options.
Please see our what we do page for more information about how we can support you.
If you find yourself homeless out of office hours, you can contact the P3 out of hours service that runs through all of Derbyshire. They will take an application over the phone and may be able to place you in temporary accommodation on behalf of the council.
When you are homeless or at risk of homelessness it is important to make a homeless application with your local council.

If you are threatened with eviction the earlier you get support the better, but this doesn’t mean that it is not worth accessing support at any stage.
Derbyshire Law Centre have qualified solicitors who can help you through this process.
It is also important to contact your local council homeless teams on the numbers above.
There might be things that both the Law Centre and the Council can do to prevent you being evicted.
If you see someone who is rough sleeping and want to make sure they can access support you can make a referral via StreetLink, and this will get passed on to local agencies providing outreach.
