Today, we’re shining a light on the vital work of The Trussell Trust, which supports a UK-wide network of food banks offering emergency food and support to people in crisis. Over the past year alone, 2.9 million food parcels were distributed — that’s one every 11 seconds. This marks a 51% increase in demand over the last five years.

 

At Pathways, we proudly partner with the Trussell Trust by issuing food bank vouchers to our service users. With over 1,300 food bank centres across the UK, each one provides at least three days’ worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food to those in need.

 

In addition, at our own Pathways drop-in sessions, we provide basic food rations — and every group session includes a free hot meal. We also signpost people to other local services offering free or discounted meals in Chesterfield and surrounding areas.
