🎄 Join Our Christmas Rucksack Appeal 2025! 🎄
Again, this year, Pathways of Chesterfield is launching something very special — our Christmas Rucksack Appeal — and we’d love for you to be a part of it!
It was such a success last year we would love for it to hit those heights again.
Think of it like the classic shoebox appeal we all know and love, but with a practical twist. Instead of a shoebox, we’re asking you to fill a rucksack with thoughtful essentials and festive treats. These rucksacks will be gifted to people experiencing homelessness this Christmas — offering not just warmth and comfort, but a little bit of joy during what can be a difficult time of year.
🎒 Why a rucksack?
For someone sleeping rough, a rucksack is more than just a bag — it’s a way to carry their entire world. A new one, filled with care, can mean the world to someone this winter.
✨ What to include:
- Warm socks
- Hat, gloves, and scarf
- Small torch (plus batteries)
- Flask or thermal mug
- Toiletries (e.g. toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, wipes)
- Hand warmers
- Gift card for Greggs, Costa, Tesco etc.
- Non-perishable, alcohol-free snacks (e.g. cereal bars, crisps, dried fruit)
- Sleeping bag (if possible)
Every rucksack will go directly to someone in need, reminding them they are not forgotten this Christmas.

Important Drop Off Information:
We will only be accepting Rucksacks from the 1st of December until the 12th of December 2025.
At 120 Saltergate between the hours of 9.30am and 4pm.
