What is Time to Talk Day?

Time to Talk Day is the nation’s biggest mental health conversation. It’s a day for all of us to come together to talk, listen and change lives.

Why is talking important?

Talking openly and honestly can be the first step towards better mental health for everyone. It can reduce stigma and help people feel comfortable enough to seek help when they need it.

Why not:

Text a friend to ask how they are doing.

Go for a walk and talk with a neighbour

Invite someone around to spend some time together

Phone someone you haven’t spoken to in a while

We underestimate the need for human interaction; everyone needs contact with others. It is deeply engrained in our biology. Social isolation is a significant concern for maintaining health.

That’s why we run our groups here at Pathways. When we support people into accommodation, they can easily find themselves isolated and lonely. Our groups encourage connection and help people build the confidence they need to make new friendships.
