Homelessness is a global crisis hiding in plain sight. Around 150 million people—about 2% of the world’s population—are homeless. Even more shocking, up to 1.6 billion people (over 20% of humanity) are living without adequate housing, in unsafe or overcrowded conditions.
More than 60 million people have been displaced by war, persecution, and instability—making them even more vulnerable to homelessness.
Closer to home, homelessness is rising across Europe, with over one million people affected across the UK, France, and Germany combined.
Earth Day isn’t just about the environment—it’s about humanity. A sustainable future must include safe, secure housing for all. Let’s care for our planet and each other. 💚
