We are deeply grateful to Georgina’s family and friends for their incredibly generous donation of £450 to Pathways, given in her memory.
Georgina sadly passed away on 12th October at just 47 years old, leaving behind three beautiful, much-loved children. Her loss is felt profoundly by everyone who knew her. But so too is her warmth.
Georgina loved to dance like no one was watching, was full of fun, kind and full of compassion. She never walked past someone in need. Whether it was stopping for a chat, offering a warm meal and drink, or simply taking the time to truly see someone who felt invisible, she gave people something priceless — dignity. She made people feel valued.
Her heart for others was shaped early on. Her father, Geoff, ran a charity in Sheffield, and Georgina often helped, learning first-hand the importance of patience, presence, and listening to those who needed to be heard. That same spirit carried through her life and work. At DCC, she advocated passionately for young people with disabilities, always striving to make life better for others.
Like so many, Georgina faced her own struggles with mental health. In honour of her life and in recognition of the causes close to her heart, her family chose to donate the funds raised at her funeral to Pathways. It is a tribute that reflects who she was — someone who cared deeply about people experiencing homelessness and those battling mental health challenges.
Because of this generosity, our rough sleepers will receive breakfast every Thursday morning for the next eight months.
Georgie’s kindness continues to ripple outward. Her legacy lives on — not only in the love she leaves behind in her children, family and friends — but in every warm meal served, every conversation shared, and every person reminded that they matter.
