Good News- Robert’s Story

Robert and his young child came to our drop-in after fleeing from his partner due to domestic abuse. They had been placed in B&B by the council but needed support whilst they were in temporary accommodation and to find a longer term option.

During their time in the B&B they came to Pathways frequently for provisions such as food, clothing and toiletries as they had fled their house with nothing. Their Pathways Housing Worker helped Robert open a new bank account to be able to get a Universal Credit claim in place as they had no access to any money. Robert and his child were eventually offered a property through the council and needed support to access furniture to be able to move in. Pathways did a referral to Derbyshire Discretionary Fund to get some of these items for them with this and we also provided them with a kitchen starter pack.

They are extremely happy and thriving in their new home. Good Luck Robert!

We provide tenancy support to some of the people we work with, who have more complex needs and might not manage to engage with more generic tenancy support.
