On National Love Your Pets Day, we’re celebrating the extraordinary bond between people and their animals – a bond that doesn’t disappear when someone loses their home.

For the people we support, pets aren’t just pets – they’re family, best friends, emotional support, and sometimes the only one who listens. We work hard to help people experiencing homelessness find accommodation where they can keep their pets with them. Because staying together matters. A lot. Realistically it’s not always possible but we try our very best.

Over the years we’ve supported dogs, cats… and yes, we’ve even adopted hamsters and seen ferrets in people’s coats (no judgement, we love them too).

Here at our Pathways office, we’re lucky to have our very own professional cuddle expert: Monty Moo, our chocolate labrador. He’s here to remind us all that a wagging tail can make all the difference.

So today, give your pet an extra treat, an extra cuddle, or let them sit on the sofa just this once.

And remember: love comes in all shapes, sizes, and occasionally in a cage with a wheel.

Because everyone deserves a home – and that includes the furry, fluffy, and slightly ferrety members of the family.
