Pathways Charity has been running for 20 years—and while that is a milestone, it is not one we can simply celebrate without reflection. Our mission has always been, and still is, to eradicate homelessness in our local community. In an ideal world, charities like ours wouldn’t be needed at all. Sadly, the reality is that we are needed now more than ever.

What we can celebrate is the difference Pathways has made to countless lives over the past two decades. We can celebrate the successes, the progress, and the people who have found hope, safety, and support when they needed it most. And there have been so many of those moments.

Pathways began back in 2006, founded by a group of local churches who recognised a growing need and started with something simple but powerful—a soup kitchen. As the need in our community grew, so did Pathways. What started small developed into a vital, trusted service offering guidance, support, and practical help to people facing some of life’s hardest challenges.

Today, Pathways of Chesterfield is independent and unique—a one-off charity rooted firmly in its community. We are here to walk alongside people when hard times hit, offering support with dignity, respect, and understanding. At the heart of everything we do is love, care, and compassion for every person who walks through our doors.

Every penny donated, granted, or funded is reinvested directly back into our community. Without Pathways, Chesterfield, North East Derbyshire, and Bolsover would feel the impact deeply. Homelessness would be far more visible, support would be harder to access, and our sense of community would be weaker.

We truly have something special here.
Pathways is a gem—and together, we protect it.
