Job Title: Housing worker
Wojciech has worked for Pathways now for 18 months. He is a Christian and attends Kingdom Ambassadors Church in Bolsover, where he is active in the technical department, and preaching ministry. Wojciech helps in the music department playing drums or piano when the need arises.
Being a family man, he absolutely adores spending time with his loved ones, sharing food, singing, and praying together. He loves God and loves people!! For anyone who has met Wojciech this is clear to see.
When Wojciech kicks back to relax he likes to watch boxing, tennis, and football. He’s told us that he wastes too much time watching YouTube! (Don’t we all?)
Wojciech has worked in the homelessness sector for some time and felt led by God. It was easy to decide whether he should apply or not for a job with Pathways as he already indirectly worked with Pathways in one of my previous roles, and he always thought well about our organisation.
Wojciech is a housing worker and is responsible for trying to find homes for homeless people or people at risk of homelessness, but his role is not limited to just that. There are other things involved such as referrals to mental health, groups, GP, bank account appointments, food and clothing provisions, charity applications etc. Sometimes a bit of listening ear or motivational chat occurs too.
When asked what Wojciech enjoys most about working for Pathways he said “I enjoy seeing change in someone’s circumstances. I enjoy when someone increases in optimism and believes that they have a potential and opportunity for bright future”.
When asked what has been your best experience at Pathways Wojciech said “I just love everything about it. Love my role, enjoy being part of our team and really like what organisation stands for, as well as what it does”.
This is what Nicky our Housing Manager said about Wojciech.
“Wojciech has been a great asset to our team and is greatly valued. He is dedicated and passionate about supporting people who access our service. Wojciech is very good in a crisis, listening, offering advice and ongoing support. He doesn’t give up and is continually advocating for the people he supports. I have seen him give people the motivation and strength to keep going and get through their difficult time to a more positive future. He is an amazing team player and will get stuck in no matter what role he is given. We can always rely on him to help with our groups and support cooking and can make the best fry up! He is great to be around, bringing laughter, friendship, and fun to the office.”
