World Homeless Day is a global moment to shine a light on one of society’s most
urgent and overlooked issues—homelessness. Held annually on October 10th, it’s a powerful opportunity to celebrate the progress we’ve made, amplify voices too often unheard, and rally for stronger policies, funding, and community action that can truly make a difference.
More than just a day of awareness, World Homeless Day urges us to recognise the humanity and needs of people experiencing homelessness right now. It highlights the life-saving efforts happening at the local level and encourages every community to play a part in preventing and ultimately ending homelessness.
The idea for this international day was born from grassroots conversations among homelessness advocates around the world. Since its first observance in 2010, World Homeless Day has grown into a global movement, marked in over 100 countries across every continent except Antarctica.
As we mark the 16th annual World Homeless Day in 2025, let’s collaborate to raise awareness, drive action, and stand together with those who deserve a safe place to call home.
